Effective September 1, 2011 I will no longer be affiliated with America's Bluegrass in any way shape form or fashion to due a contract dispute, well, lack of a contract dispute. The show that airs this weekend will be my last America's Bluegrass Radio Show. They have another host in the works.
Whatever you read or see just ask me for details for the WHOLE TRUTH, or ask to see it!! It's been a great run for 510 shows with mind boggling numbers on listenership.
What's next... Hopefully a new live radio show in the Tri-State. Another syndicated show is in the pre-production as you ready this with many stations already wanting the product.... The Cecilian Bank Bluegrass Hour will continue on as it has the past 600+ shows.

Bluegrass Music is alive and well too. I've heard many great comments from folks all around about the excitement for the music.

Real Estate seems to be gaining some steam in the Ashland market, now to get lenders on the ball it could be a record year in my books.

Politicians I once again must state what YOU ALL HAVE FORGOTTEN. "We the People of the United States of America..." an no mention of a tea party, democrat or republician, it's PEOPLE.

I am PROUD to be an American! Please keep the families of the victims of 911 in your thoughts and/or prayers. Never forget the military, and that includes those on active duty and all the veterans. If not for their courage, honor and duty I could not be doing what I do today, and I believe that would go for you too.

My father was a WWII vet. I have a nephew on active duty now. Thank you!

That Time Of Year

It's that time of year. Leaves are falling. Days are shorter. Temperatures are falling. Boy it's nice!
When your driving the highways and byways of America, or wherever else you drive, be on the lookout for the greatest thing this world has, the children! They are playing, getting on or off busses, riding bikes etc., BE ALERT!
Also don't forget about critters too, big and little! Cats and dogs are always about and as days get shorter and temperatures drop the male deer (bucks) start looking for sweethearts (does) and it's about like teenagers!! A buck gets looking for a doe and pays no attention to anything else...including cars!

It's Easy To Save Money

1. Start having a qualified person instal an Energy Star Programmable Thermostat, and make sure you follow the guide and program it correctly.
2. Energy Star CFL lighting is also a great way to save money. Sure they cost a bit more but they last A LOT longer and lower your electric bill in the process.
3. Where there is a long time between use turn of all computers, monitors, printers, etc., just have a powerstrip that powers everything at one push of a button.
4. Take care of your health!

Grass Seed

Grass seed with snow on the ground? You bet! It's a great time to toss some seed down. I ain't no expert, but the melting snow helps the seed stick to the dirt and helps germination. A lot of info is out there just Google.

Winter Weather: Be Prepared

With all the cold taking over the USA right now, be prepared! Have a few days worth of non-perishable food available that will be fine to eat if the power goes out.
Get a manual can opener! Have another heat source. Flashlights. Batteries. Radio. Playing cards/games to pass the time. More batteries. Bottles of water. Lots of blankets/clothes. Toilet paper.
As I tell my daughter, Think. Think. Think. Buy a tote and put things there and once a year go thru/replace as needed for just such an event. Think. Think. Think of what you may need and hope you never have too!

Before you toss salt to melt the snow or ice on your driveway, porch, sidewalk, etc., make sure it's safe for the surface! Salt will eat concrete.

Pets. Critters.

It is the time of the year to remember the pets and critters around your home.

Pets should have shelter from the weather. Find something that works for you and the pet.

If you have a pet outside make sure it's got good bedding. A bale of straw goes along way in keeping your pet warm and dry.

If you have a pet that runs loose think about the delivery people, utility people and those whom travel the public areas near your home. If you expect a package and you have a dog that looks aggressive you may miss the delivery. Utilility bills may be estimated too.

Wild critters. You can feed the birds, deer etc., but they are not pets! Now, if you have bears don't feed them. Be smart. Be safe.
